VOCABULARY AND CONTEXT

Students learn vocabulary related to isolated communities and island life (remote island, residents, community life, nature reserve, bicycle path, carry supplies). Through matching, listening, and speaking tasks, they practise using these words in context.

READING AND LISTENING

Learners watch a video about La Digue island and answer comprehension questions. They read articles about life without cars and unique island communities, complete matching, gap-fill, and multiple-choice tasks, and reflect on how isolation shapes daily routines.

GRAMMAR PRACTICE

The lesson introduces the Present Perfect Progressive (Continuous) for describing actions that started in the past and continue into the present (e.g. have been living, has been working).
