The lesson covers hedging and speculative structures — Researchers believe that…, It is thought/believed that…, According to legend…, may have + past participle, Some historians suggest that… and The exact origin of… is unknown — for softening claims and marking degrees of certainty. How the lesson works

A warm-up with the twelve zodiac signs opens the topic. Then a fact-myth-speculation section with definition matching, true-or-false statements and a reading about the zodiac's history, followed by the hedging-language block with gap-fills and rewrites, a freer speaking task, and homework combining controlled choice with rewriting.
