Talking about food: Like, Love, Hate + Verb-ing

VOCABULARY AND WARM-UP

The lesson starts with questions like “What’s your favorite food?” and leads into food vocabulary divided into categories: fruits, vegetables, meat, products and utensils. Students match words with images and practise pronunciation and listening through clickable vocabulary lists.

GRAMMAR AND PRACTICE

The focus is on like / love / hate + verb-ing structure. Learners study affirmative, negative and question forms and complete grammar tables, sentence-building tasks and gap-fills. They choose correct options and use new structures in speaking and writing.

READING AND DISCUSSION

Students read and listen to a short article about the world’s most expensive restaurant, learning new adjectives and food-related expressions. A follow-up discussion prompts students to express opinions using the gerund structure.

CREATIVE TASKS AND HOMEWORK

The final task includes a homework challenge where students take photos of food and write sentences like “I enjoy cooking pasta with my dad.” using the grammar from the lesson. They record sentences and reflect on food habits and preferences.
