Work & City Life: Amasing jobs
💼 Professions and workplaces
❤️ Like / love / hate + verb-ing
🍫 Amazing jobs

This A1 ESL lesson teaches jobs-and-workplaces vocabulary and the pattern like/love/hate + verb-ing through a set of fun, unusual professions, so beginners talk about work and preferences from the start.
What students learn
Students build profession vocabulary — doctor, teacher, chef, farmer, firefighter, mechanic, waiter, lifeguard and quirky jobs like water slide tester, chocolate taster and pet photographer — and learn to match each job to its workplace. A language note on work in / at / for / with shows how to describe where and with whom people work.
Grammar focus
The lesson covers like / love / hate + verb-ing to express what people enjoy or dislike doing (I like swimming, She loves teaching, He hates cleaning). Practice moves from a clear rule box to gap-fills and personalised sentences.
How the lesson works
A "guess the job" warm-up opens the topic, then vocabulary, a reading about an amazing job with true/false and discussion, the grammar block, a listening-and-talk task about a chocolate taster, a quiz and homework. Homework includes job-and-workplace matching and sentence building, with instant feedback throughout.
