Work & City Life: Amasing jobs

This A1 ESL lesson teaches jobs-and-workplaces vocabulary and the pattern like/love/hate + verb-ing through a set of fun, unusual professions, so beginners talk about work and preferences from the start.

What students learn

Students build profession vocabulary — doctor, teacher, chef, farmer, firefighter, mechanic, waiter, lifeguard and quirky jobs like water slide tester, chocolate taster and pet photographer — and learn to match each job to its workplace. How the lesson works

A "guess the job" warm-up opens the topic, then vocabulary, a reading about an amazing job with true/false and discussion, the grammar block, a listening-and-talk task about a chocolate taster, a quiz and homework.
