How AI credits work
What each AI action costs in edio.ai, how many credits your plan includes, and how to give teachers access to the generator.
Every AI action in edio spends credits. Credits belong to the account, so if you teach with a team, everyone draws from the same balance.

What your plan includes
Your plan includes a monthly allowance of credits, and the larger the plan, the more credits it includes. They reset at the start of each billing month.
You can see your exact allowance on Manage payments, where the plan card shows what is included per month. Use the slider there to see what a larger plan would give you.
Credits included in the plan do not carry over. Credits you buy on top of the plan have no expiry date.
Check your balance
Two ways in: click the credits counter in the header, or Credits & history under the generator.
The screen shows three numbers:
AI credits — your current balance
Generations — how many generations you have run in total
Credits spent this month — usage for the current month
Below them is the full history: date, topic, type of generation, level, languages, the teacher who ran it, and the cost. Use it to see where the month went.
Manage payments shows the same balance split in two: what is left from the plan, with the date it resets, and what you have bought on top.
Top up
Top up on either screen adds credits outside your plan. These have no expiry and are spent after the plan allowance runs out.
Let teachers use the generator
If you work alone, you already have access and can skip this. If other teachers work with you, turn the generator on for each of them.
By default, teachers cannot generate lessons.
Go to School settings.
Find the teacher in the list on the right.
Switch on the AI toggle next to their name.
Because credits are shared across the account, every teacher you enable spends from the same balance. Credits & history shows who generated what, so you can see how usage is spread.
