How to review student homework
How to check homework in edio — find submitted assignments by the yellow tag, review answers, and send text or audio feedback to your students.
When a student submits a written or audio assignment, it appears in Review homework on your class card. Materials with something waiting are marked with a yellow tag, and the same tag shows on the class card itself — so you can see where homework needs checking without opening every class. You review the answer, leave text or audio feedback, and mark the assignment as completed or to be redone.
Find what needs checking
On the class card, open More actions → Review homework. Materials with submitted homework are marked with a yellow tag.
The tag also appears on the class card in your list of classes, so a glance at Online lessons tells you which classes have assignments waiting.
Open a submission
Click Open on the material marked with the yellow tag. You'll see the list of students who submitted, and how many exercises each one has waiting.
Click Check next to a student to open their work. For each exercise you'll see the lesson title, the chapter it came from, the task description, and the student's answer — typed text or an audio recording you can play back.
Leave feedback
You can respond in text, audio, or both:
Audio feedback — click Start recording and speak. Useful for pronunciation notes, where writing "the stress is on the second syllable" is slower and less clear than just saying it.
Text feedback — write your comment in the editor, with basic formatting available.
Then mark the result:
The homework assignment should be redone — the student gets the task back to try again.
Mark as perfectly completed — the work is done.
Click Send to student to finish. The student automatically receives an email letting them know their homework has been checked.
Where homework comes from
This is homework from your virtual classes. Assignments reach this screen from the Homework chapter of a lesson and from any asynchronous exercise — teacher-reviewed writing and teacher-reviewed audio. Students can open class materials at any time from their side and complete them outside the lesson, so homework arrives between classes, not only right after one.
